2019's edition of ArcTanGent Festival remains dedicated to the bringing the very best music from the worlds of forward thinking post-rock, metal and hardcore music. We're incredibly pleased to see our bands be a part of proceedings, so be sure to come along and witness:
Conjurer, MØL, Ithaca, Pijn, We Never Learned To Live, Slow Crush, A.A.Williams, Employed To Serve, Bossk. On top of this, Pijn & Conjurer will be collaborating once more as Curse These Metal Hands - at the festival which commissioned their first performance together!
All of the A.A.Williams' debut EP’s original charm and appeal remain intact on this reissue, with additional content in the form of intimately stripped back renditions of ‘Terrible Friends’, ‘Belong’ and ‘Cold’ as well as a mesmerisingly sorrowful home demo cover of Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’. Branded ‘Death Gospel’ by Metal Hammer and musically shrouded in melancholy and steeped in shadow, this is an artist whose future appears to be blooming within those dark places regardless.
In case you missed it! We're excited to announce that we're running UK & EU pre-orders for the indomitable US mathcore / technical metal wrecking crew Car Bomb and their upcoming fourth album 'Mordial'.
Due September 27th 2019, you can pre-order the release, with bundles, from us here.
In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest single 'Scattered Sprites' below:
Before Slow Crush’s debut album ‘Aurora’ and the relentless touring schedule that ensued, ‘Ease’ served as an introduction for their blend of ethereal and infectious dream pop-meets-shoegaze. Songs such as ‘Sway’ and ‘Linger’ masterfully nod to greats such as My Bloody Valentine and Ride, whilst bringing a refined and contemporary alternative rock sensibility to their sound. This deft approach at blending the cacophonous with the otherworldly set Slow Crush apart from their contemporaries as more than just students of the shoegaze revival, with this reissue hammering home that fact.
Accompanying the EP is four fan favourites taken from ‘Aurora’ and an...
With the first half of 2019 having already passed at a lightening pace, we thought we'd slow down for a moment and remind you of some of our releases that you may have missed!
A.A.Williams - S/T
Evoking influence from ‘Moon Pix’-era Cat Power and her serene contemporaries such as Emma Ruth Rundle, A.A.Williams is came out the gate as an exemplary songwriter with anthemic and passionate melodies with our first release of the year and her debut.
RENOUNCED - BEAUTY IS A DESTRUCTIVE ANGEL OUT: 27/09/2019
In the early 00’s the metalcore scene was flourishing with the likes of Killswitch Engage, Misery Signals and Poison the Well… to name a few. Fast forward to present day there is a distinct lack of bands willing to rise to be the new wave of metalcore bands, enter Renounced.
Whilst new ‘hype’ bands have been coming and burning out just as fast Renounced have been quietly and confidently growing in the background watching the music scene flash by, biding their time and waiting for their rightful place at the top of metalcore.
The ‘difficult’ third album does not apply here, Renounced’s ‘Beauty Is A Destructive...
Hide your wives and lock your liquor cabinet, Pijn & Conjurer have joined forces to bring you 'Curse These Metal Hands', a collaboration album filled to the brim with sleaze and riffs.
Geographically far flung and musically disparate, the members of Pijn and Conjurer combine elements of their respective sounds, while taking inspiration from classic British rock such as Thin Lizzy, modern American metal in the vein of Baroness and Torche, whilst even indulging in the odd spot of Elton John worship. Curse These Metal Hands is sure to be a highlight for many heavy music fans this year.
Monthly record club Stylus Vinyl has teamed up with the critically acclaimed ArcTanGent to curate a limited-edition box set, exclusive to attendees at this year’s festival. Each box will feature two 12” records: the 2LP version of No Man’s Sky: Music From An Infinite Universe by 65daysofstatic; and Mire, the debut record from genre-hopping Midlanders, Conjurer.
The box will also include an exclusive art print, designed by illustrator Jimbob Isaac, who created the festival’s unique illustrated branding. In addition, a special issue of the Stylus magazine will be included, featuring interviews with the bands, listening notes for the music and more. There’ll also be a four pack of beer from the music-focused Signature Brew.
We're beyond thrilled to finally release the reissue of MØL’s first two EP’s - remastered and repackaged, MØL’s ‘I’ and ‘II’ are given a new life entirely. The hybrid of black metal and shoegaze has never sounded quite as spellbinding or masterful.

Introducing Boise, Idaho based punishers THROES and their debut single ‘They Never Spoke’ from the forthcoming debut album ‘In The Hands Of An Angry God’. Channelling the sonic density and production values of post-metal exemplars Neurosis with the attack of extreme metal contemporaries Cult Leader, THROES present a decidedly vicious approach to their songcraft that feels revelatory in it’s malice.
